Studying photos from my teen years on up reveals about 3 basic photographed modes:

1) Unsmiling, unamused, almost scarily serious.
2) Ultra-cool, possibly but not necessarily smiling.
3) Deliriously happy.

That's about it. Me in a nutshell, viewed from the outside in those years.
