"Dean’s support among registered and likely Democrats, meanwhile, has been cut in half, to 12 percent. That puts him in three-way tie for second place in the Jan. 27 New Hampshire primary with retired Gen. Wesley Clark (12 percent) and North Carolina Sen. John Edwards (13 percent)." (New Newsweek Poll) Hmm, looks to me like Edwards is rising fast, and at this moment appears to *now* be in second place in New Hampshire, behind only John Kerry. **That** is the significant story! OK, OK, I suppose Dean dropping like a rock is interesting. However, it's old news!

Just reading some UK women talking about their goals, why they are slimming, and got to this one:

"I would like to feel more confident being naked in front of my partner."

Yeah, that's a great feeling, to feel like your "partner" enjoys (and feels lucky to) look at you naked.

Another one:

"I'd like to feel better about myself so I can leave the lights on whilst having sex with my partner."

Ha ha aha... Although I shouldn't laugh. I think it can be much harder for women. They're generally expected to be thin and attractive. However, their bodies burn fewer calories than guys do, so it isn't easy.

I'm so sick of hearing about Dean! Really, I couldn't care less about him. He's not important, except as a joke..... Edwards beat him 32 to 18 percent in Iowa, and all we keep hearing is about stupid Dean. He's done. Oh well, I suppose they're slow to react. They'll wake up, eventually....

Having Fun
Seems John Edwards is having fun, these days.... I remember several months ago, listening to a series of radio interviews of the presidential candidates on NPR. Edwards caught my attention then. He was the only one I was interested in enough to go and listen to additional clips of, on the NPR web site. I thought it was a shame he was polling so lightly. Some people, like Brit Hume last night on the debate televised on Fox, like to think, or more likely hope, that Edwards is just too young to run this year. I imagine that thought is comforting. Edwards will be 50 this year however, even though, like some of us, he doesn't look his age (not that I am Edwards' age, however I share *that* characteristic with him.) This is really getting interesting now.... I love watching that guy think on his feet. The way he smiled while deflecting Hume's boorish question last night... Or the way he deftly handled Peter Jennings' tricky question on Islam. He's impressive.

Dean, on the other hand, leaves me wondering how he ever got to be a theoretical front-runner, in the first place. Dean's manner reminds me of the butthead older brother on the Wonder Years.

I love this ad (Quicktime.) It's the one they should have chosen.

I Don't Like Him
I don't like Dean. He's arrogant like Bush. Smarter, probably. Just as unlikeable though. I'm glad now that he's faltered... He seems to live in a weird manic world. He'd be scary if he really had any power (like Bush.) Especially when there are much more attractive alternatives, like Edwards, why waste time with Dean. Other than as a joke. Looks like the joke may be up soon though. Dean *was* 25 points ahead of Kerry only weeks back. The latest phone polls have him 5 to 10 points *behind* Kerry now. How foolish does that stupid speech after his disappointing loss in Iowa look now? I wonder how long he'll stick around.

There's a great article in The Weekly Standard, Laughing At Dean:

"When they begin to laugh at you automatically, you're dead."

Dean, The Remix
There's a pretty funny remix of Howard Dean from Tuesday night, here.

Dean, The Drugged Animal
Boy, I'm glad I got to watch it live... That is, nutty candidate Howard Dean sounding like "a drugged animal." Ha hahaha! John Edwards looked a lot cooler, and actually had something to say. Of course, he got twice the votes. Wow, finally an interesting presidential campaign. Who wants to replace Bush? I sure hope the candidate with the most votes actually becomes president this time.
