Complicated Again  I watched the video to "Complicated" again last night, on my new monitor... This song is a lot better without the video. Although I like the shots of Avril singing. :-) The rest of the video is just dumb... Great song though. I could kiss her. At the same time tender and daring. Charming inuendo. In "Sk8rboi" the taunting of her boy's ex-girlfriend would be a little much.... Except, the way I see it, it's more of a celebration of Avril (as the new girlfriend character in the song) as the girl who really believed in that boy. I love that. A girl can do that so well.... There's a little of the "sure you're a prettier girl than me, but I had the good sense to make this boy mine - unlike you, who had the chance before I," which I like too... The vulnerability warms my heart. Trying To Control Me "Girl you hold me, trying to control me..." That's what I'm concerned about. Who wants to be controlled by a girl? (Or anyone human, [edit:or anything evil, of course] for that matter.) I see it all the time. Is it worth it? I'm not sure it is. {Slim Smith - "Let Me Go Girl."} Girl Certificate Again this morning, I was writing a note to myself about a gift (just did it again and corrected myself) certificate I need to go buy this afternoon. Every time, I write it as *girl certificate* though! I guess that's what I'd like... Just thinking about this some more. No I wouldn't really be that interested in a bordello certificate - and they do have those. Mine would be more useful...It would give me a choice of some girls I know (and also *possibly* one or two I don't really know) who are at least unmarried. What it would do is, find out if they are pretty much unattached, and also, if they're interested in me, too. Then, it would ask them out. I'd never find out if they said no - those would be the rejects - the certificate wouldn't work on them. They'd just be treated as "unavailable." Now, the ones with good taste... ;-) Those, I would have a choice of!!! And, since you never know if something is going to work out, until you really get to know a person, it would be best if the *girl certificate* would work on several girls, as needed. (It might only be needed once, if I was lucky.) Yeah, yeah, my kind of girl certificate. It would be *so* much easier, if you had a go-between, to sort out the "I like her, she likes me" sorts of things, before you ever really start getting to know each other. No waste of time. No feelings hurt. No awkward excuses. No huge risk for the guy. Yeah, that's the way it should be. Girl certificates... I want one of those for my next birthday. :-) Thursday, February 20, 2003
Picture Test OK this monitor is passing the picture test with flying colours.... Vivid colours, and beautiful images.. :-) Softer I like a nice dimmed halogen light... I don't care if they've lost their popularity. I like them! Second choice would be those ultra-low watt screw in flourescent bulbs... Typical! My favorite lights are high wattage, or very low wattage, nothing in between.... Something I'm noticing, with my new washer and dryer... Of course, they get the clothes clean, and dry again. Something else though... They're softer!!! Much softer. I'd heard this type of washer is gentler on clothing. It's hard to believe though. My dress shirts come out, mmmm, nice and soft to the touch. You just want to rub them on your face or something. I love it. I Do I do like it... Text isn't so clear as my as yet unmatched old monitor, which died a few months back.... I like it though. It's sure a lot thinner than that monster was.... I still have it sitting in my closet at the old place - - "just in case I ever want to get it fixed or something." I dread removing it! This thing is pretty nice though.. I think I could get used to it.... While I was waiting on the phone forever to speak with someone at Dell - something I **hate** about Dell - I figured it out myself. Sheesh, they're a lot worse than ATT in personal service though... I think Dell has good stuff, but they need to hire a few thousand people to start answering their phones... Better?? Hmm, I'm not sure if I like this monitor better than my old big monitor or not! LCD? Hmmmmmmmm....Although I *am* tired, and I don't have the right lighting in here yet... Urgh, looks like my ATT mail doesn't work so far tonight... At least hotmail is still up. Vigor This is for tomorrow: "You will be full of energy, and take on the work of Hercules." Good! I can use it... I've still got more to move tomorrow. If I really do feel that way, maybe I'll move the last of the heavy things...I *have* had some extra vigor lately. A welcome phenomena. Trying To Keep My Head Up I'm so tired, I don't know how I can hold my head up this afternoon. I think I need to be laying in bed sleeping. Yes, that sounds perfect. Or at least, laying on my couch dreaming... Tafluck His Mind Out "Well, toughluck, that boy's mine now...." sounds like, "Well, ta f*** that boy's mind out." I like that girl. (That's from "Sk8Er Boi"...) "You Paid More, Right?" Ha!!! I will shut up about this soon. For now anyway... I was just telling one of my neighbors how I really want to add several PC gadgets. Not sure how quickly I'll do it.. He started telling me I'm rich (I'm not really) with a new house, new car (I guess he figures, newer than his) etc. Then I said, "Well your "new" house was about the same as mine, right?" He finally said what they'd paid... smaller house, different neighborhood, other side of the river, bigger yard though.... Then he added "You paid more than that, right?" Ha!! He just saw mine a few days back. No! I paid many thousands less than he did... He ehhe... I'm *not* rich. I just know how to spend my money. ;-) Gadgets I want so many PC gadgets!! I suppose I'll have to prioritize. Plus, at least break in the ones I've already bought, before adding new ones... Hmm... Pent up desire. There are so many cool things one can do... Avril Acoustically  I sure like Avril. Just because someone gets popular, doesn't mean they can't also be cool and talented. I just got a hold of an acoustic set of hers, on avi video... Just her and her guitarist. Quite charming. That blonde guy is really cool too - and you could feel a special connection between the two. Nice long version of "Complicated" at the end... 4 Hours It actually took about 4 hours for ATT to set up my cable internet connection in my new place... Well, that included 54 minutes on line with their technical folks after the installer had left, to actually get it working. At least it didn't cost me anything, except extra time missed from work.... Same email as before, good... |
