How Does This Happen? This seems to defy logic.
Water in the morning, upside-down icecycle in the evening.

Free Winona!
She should have had me on her jury. She's amazing.

Darker and Darker
It keeps getting darker and darker, and it's only 1:00PM. I've been longing for rain for months, and here it is. Later might be a good chance to drown my sorrows, I'm thinking. I like the sound of the falling rain on the roof. It's coming down pretty hard. I love the rain. It's somehow comforting. I only wish I'd brought my umbrella. Perfect umbrella conditions outside - heavy rain, and no wind.

No More Sisters?!
Ugh, the Satellite Sisters are leaving public radio? Shoot. I like listening to the sisters even when I am not particularly listening to the details of their conversations and interviews. They feel good. Hey, one of the sisters lives in my city! I don't have any real sisters. Maybe I could claim her? Five sisters... I wish my five brothers and myself could be as close now as these sisters *seem* to be. I think girls are better at that stuff.

My Universe
"You might not be in any hurry to add another set of variables to your world." True. "Wake up. This is exactly why you're a prime candidate for falling in love." Yeah. It's such a weakness! One more, "Relationships especially are likely to benefit from a new approach to life." :-)

A Nap Club!
Ha hahaha! A busy high school girl in Connecticut is on NPR talking about taking a nap each day. A "power nap club"... I love that! I wish I could get one going at work. They can be so refreshing. Now if I can just manage to run into a certain girl today... (Edit: We didn't.)

Next To Her
After stopping at Starbucks, and actually using their funky name for a large coffee for once, I pulled into my work driveway and around to the parking lot. A few cars here today, I note. On Saturdays, since no one is around, and usually no parks on the second level up, let alone the third, I park on the second, for a change of pace. As I got closer, who's car should I see there on that "Saturday" level?? Hers!!! The one I always park next to on week days, who rarely comes in on Saturdays. Ha haa, so, naturally, I parked right next to her, on that second level. Even though hers and mine were the *only* cars up on that level. Think she'll notice? ;-) "Boy, he even parks right next to me on this other level, on a Saturday..." It may *seem* obvious. However, we each chose independently to park in a certain part of the highest level of the open air park on weekdays. In fact, I think I was there first. :-) Then, on Saturdays, her and I each apparently choose, again independently, to park in the same little part of the second level, on a weekend day.. Mmm, Starbucks has such a texture.. I imagine I'd get tired of it if I went there daily. I think I will make a point of going over there more often though.

Good Vibes
Hmm, I just went to Thriftway to mail some things, instead of just driving through the post office, because I thought it would be some sort of stop, to share my good vibes today... As I walked in, I noticed one of the checkers, checking me. Ha. As Laura might say, I think she had a crush on me, at least this day. So after finding some pears. I went to check out, and as it turned out, her line was pretty short. That was fun. The lady in front of me told me to go ahead of her... Then the checkout girl, he he.. Tall and pretty with long dark hair. A bit too tall for me, and I suppose "too young", but, you'd think I was some sort of celebrity or something, today. I loved that! ;-) The problem is, now I wonder if or where I should go, a little later. I'm in a very musical mood today, and I want to at least work on a CD or find some music or something... And *if* I go, where? It doesn't particularly matter... Just someplace with people. Maybe go pick up dinner some place? Not in a 2 minute in and out place either. Where though? This is a challenge! Something barbqued? (Hmm, this blog is devoid of images lately, isn't it? I really should hook my scanner back up... If I can find someplace in here to put it.) Oh man... Beulah is cool. I wish I could just sit here, and a nice girl or two would come by... he hehe... That's the struggle, music, or girl... Girl, or music? I love music so much, and it's so easy... That's the trouble with me. A girl likes to be a guy's top priority.

Talking E-Mail
Ugh! Just got an email from ATT which started talking, even in just the "view" mode. Bad, very bad! I love their cable internet, but sheesh! They wanted me to sign up for TiVo, which I wouldn't mind having, but I don't even watch the cool things I find *now*. I don't really need more.... Tall and pretty, with dark hair. Only, she must have been all of 19 or 20 maybe. Too tall, and I suppose "too young", but, you'd think I was some sort of celebrity or something, today. I loved that! ;-)

You Could Change Your Mind
I just almost met in passing in the hall, a certain young woman who is not interested in me. Ha, well, in my mood today, I half turned as she walked away, and thought outloud (not very loudly) to her, "you could change your mind." Then I went to get myself a drink from the fountain.. And sang outloud, softly, with no one else listening, "babe-a-licious in blue jeans.." She's not my type, but who cares.

One's Personal Music
Why is it, that no name bands and artists tend to be better than big name ones? Is it just my taste? Is it partly just the fun of discovery? How can you beat the thrill of hearing something by someone you never heard of, which is great? It's exhilerating! It's also really fun to be seemingly the only guy in town listening to the mix I am. Yesterday, driving back, I was negotiating the roads downtown, with some My Morning Jacket on... It was only moderately loud, however I noted, the people I was driving by, a few of them anyway, seemed to enjoy me driving by them. They'd smile or light up a little. I was feeling happy and contented at the time, in my own universe. One's music is such a personal thing... to me anyway.
When it hits you, you feel all right...
Ha, well, I know a girl who thinks most of my music is "weird." I must be weird, because she tells me my stuff isn't "popular" and I'm thinking, "so what!" :-)

Replay Endlessly
What is the meaning of a woman? What is the meaning of a girl? I'm not sure yet. It's fun to think about though. Her voice, her shape, her smile, her heart. Her charm, her love. Her lovely face, her gentle spirit. The way she moves. (Wait, I could use my eyes to film them too! *That* would be fun... "I met the loveliest girl today. I never expected it and there she was. See... Hmm, wonder if she was wearing a wedding band. Rewind, zoom. No! As long as I'm capturing what my eyes see as film, I think I should capture her sound too. Nice, huh? Do you think she looked interested? Ooo, I missed that little look of hers the first time..." Yes, I can see where this would be very useful. Plus, you could simply delete, or edit out, those sounds and sights you don't care to see or hear again. And replay others endlessly. ;-) What if others could see what you see? This morning's mysterious sunrise rainbow. Those trees to intoxicate along my drive back. That girl, and that woman, and.. Hmm, I think my film for today would have two subjects. Beautiful trees and lovely creatures.)
Spare needles.

With My Eyes
It's good to go someplace different. After a couple leisurely stops downtown, I was sitting in my car, doing a little writing. So many interesting strangers down there. I enjoyed that greatly, and took my time about it. After I was there a while, just to my right, a little white Honda car came driving up, going right on a left only street, right next to me! It was filled with teenaged girls, laughing their heads off, after they let out a startled squill. I was just hoping they wouldn't try backing up and run into me sitting in my car just beside them. They didn't. Traffic stopped for them, they circled around and went back the right way. They sure took it well.... On the way back out here, I viewed some gorgeous dreamy trees along the roadway... I wished I could film them with my eyes. There would be an advantage to being partly bionic. I could zoom in too.

As If One Ever Expects A Rainbow
"Sorrow" - Life Without Buildings, revisited. I feel the love in her voice. An unexpected rainbow left me wishing I'd brought my camera this morning.

Out Of The Blue
I'm cold. I think maybe it's my new, short haircut. No wonder I dread haircuts.... I got a postcard in the mail today, out of the blue.

Dreary weather, bleak mood.
"You will love someone you admire, whose charm disturbs you."

Wow, out of almost a million votes cast, now the margin is less than 1,000 votes.. It's closing! Earlier, this didn't seem like that interesting of an election night, but our governor's race is making it interesing.. Interesting here, anyway. I suppose I am not the best prognosicator of who is going to win what. Seems like I tend to pick them with my heart. YEs yes yes!!!! My candidate just went UP by 500 votes... Alright... A couple hours ago he was down 8,000! YEs yes yes!!! Yes!!! :-) {Edit: Now the other guy is up by 44 votes, 443,450 to 443,406. This is crazy! ...No wait, now my guy has jumped ahead again, by 197. I never thought it would be this close. It's nuts!}

Hmm, well, of my two guys I was rooting for, it sure looks like one of them is going to lose.. However, my other one, which is a lot more important to me personally, and could affect me in various ways... Is behind, but my own analysis of places where he is way, way ahead, and which haven't reported yet, tell me he is likely to win.. Ugh though, there is no way I can just go off to bed now! Ok, this is getting kind of fun... It's fun to be able to snoop around the web too. The local newscasters don't seem to have as much information at their fingertips... He may be behind by 4,000 votes right now, but just wait! I don't think I've ever gotten even most of my wishes granted on election nights, ever. The first year I voted, I really wanted one president, and he lost, just barely. It's been mixed since then, but I certainly don't rule, in politics. Looks like another mixed night.

Ugh, the night of elections, I have about zero energy, and I don't feel very well... Oh well.. ("Come on," I tell myself, "this is supposed to be a really fun night.. I love the races!" And I reply, "Yeah, right, what fun.") OK, well, dinner is helping... Odd how these elections can become important to a person.

From a little hike about two weeks back.
Terriica says " "People are happiest when they're alone and living their solitary lives."

I hope Winona Ryder gets off. It seems like they're being extra mean to her, just because she's famous. The best thing about her trial, is that we've gotten to see lots of her face in the news lately... I'm actually proud of the Americans out at the polls today. I do prefer voting by mail, but there was something special about going to the polling booth, too..

Weird Expressions
I love it when people use weird expressions. I've got a couple neighbors who keep me entertained that way, popping up with weird things to say, when I'm just going about my business. Like, one just said, "That's a horse of a different colour." I told him he should be in the Wizard of Oz. He is a pretty strange character. I think he'd fit right in.

Stop Dreaming!
Well, I'm breaking my rule already. That's the nice thing about blogs though, you can do what you want. What does "blog" stand for? OK, "log" yes, but what is the "b"? Well, mine's "b"lue, true.. But what of the "blog" in general? What's that stand for? Anything? Or is it just a meaningless made up proprietary name?

Anyone who knows me might find this kind of funny...for my November: "Stop daydreaming and building castles in the air. Time to look at things more clearly. Introduce more discipline and order in both your working and personal life." OK, yes... Or this, "Your ideas may be brilliant, but fitting them in could present problems. You may be ahead of your time, or just need to slow down to find the right form to express yourself." Fitting in is not really one of my strong points! ;-) Nor is it a priority.

Back To Optimal
Just got my new PC yesterday, and in the process, they switched me over to Windows NT. Unfortunately, I found that my favourite Windows 98 screen saver was gone! All they had left, were really bad ones... So, I was talking with my manager, and the same thing happened to him, which he wasn't too happy about either. He he... a few minutes later, I have us both up and running with it again! I do not like it when something I like is taken away - so I usually just get it back, one way or the other. :-)

Eerie
It's eerie out this morning, that cloudy, misty twilight. Just enough rain came before waking, as if to serve notice of what's to come... Soon "idiots" may be allowed to vote in New Mexico... Hmm, well, I guess they should. If Ventura can be a governor. He's like the Ratbert of politicians.. Vacant and not really funny either. This is the perfect morning to be sipping some cloudy coffee and staring out at the bleakness.

The evenings are too short, and the morning waking time too early. Arbitrary hours! You have to try to squish your life into the little blocks of time you're given in between. Oh well, it's not like there's *no time* for actual life! And you can even squeeze a little in while you're toiling away... Beulah's cool. I need to listen to them more..... I like smart people, and fast computers.

Good and Ready
OK, I'm going to try to resist posting these things for a while. I like this one though, for tomorrow, "You're looking, but there's nothing desperate about your search. Potential lovers find you at ease, full of intelligence and good jokes. If they don't ask you first, you'll get around to asking them when you're good and ready." Well, I have jokes, that is if they enjoy my strange sense of humour!! Er, I may get around to asking them when I'm good and ready.

"Money also comes to you late in life, after the 42nd year of age." Yeah, cool! Nearby homemade Goofy top, after the contest Thursday...

How can this stuff be accurate? "You do not marry in a hurry, and do so only when you are assured that the other party reciprocates your love.... Your spouse may be fickle, and bring about a break in your marital relationship. Often, you prefer to marry a homebody who can provide home comforts and good companionship." The trouble is, what to do when you find accurate sources. Ha, or this, "Your own Sun Sign provides a lasting love, while Pisces offers lavish sexual happiness." He ehhee... Or, "You would do well to marry those born under Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn." Interesting. They *all* seem to mention Taurus... Capricorn too? I've known interesting ones! We're each other's type. Yeah. That's what they say, anyway. "An involvement with childish Gemini would be a mistake." That's for sure!!!!!!!!!!! "{Capricorn} girls also find sensitive Virgo and affectionate Libra easy to love." I've seen it.

Old Fashioned
Ha, I've been told I'm old fashioned a time or two.. Which I don't mind really. I was just thinking how old fashioned the idea of going to the polling places to vote, seems to me. I think I last did that, hmm, well, many years ago! No, I didn't stop voting either. I'm pretty regular. I started voting every time absentee years back. Then, they switched to entirely vote by mail in our state! Strange, huh? I like it though. I voted last Wednesday. I love watching the races all over the country though, and it's interesting to see images of others all over going to their voting booths... It seems so quant. ;-)

Happy Gagne
Typical!!! I only thought I was going to meet with {Deleted - I'm having too much fun deleting parts of posts! ;-)} this afternoon... OK, this is at least the second thing I've written of on here, which seemed pretty certain, and then "she" (whichever) put me off for one reason or another... So, is *this* a jinx? Hmm, maybe I should just edit the previous message and take that part out.... Hmm, well subject to further edit, here's a nice thought. One of my favourite Dodgers, Eric Gagne, just got married, and Eric's birthday is January 7. He and his bride sure look happy! Especially Valerie, his long time girlfriend... I like her glasses.

Chase That Thought Away!
{Rest of post deleted before posted.} Hmm, I'm not sure I should post this.... {I didn't.} OK, now, to chase that thought away - - {This thought now deleted too!} Cool, I just walked past the bright shining morning sun, holding my fresh milky brown nearly full cup of coffee in front of me.. To my right and just ahead of me, I caught a glimpse of a glistening blue streak on the wall... my indigo blue cup's rim, with the sun flowing through the blue and reflecting sparklingly beautiful, for me to see. (There's that glorious *life* again...)

I read something with the advice to "chase the negative thoughts out of your mind (should they appear.}" Surprisingly, it works pretty well.
