Job More? Fast flight
Why do they call it jobless? "Oregon's jobless rate remains the highest in the country, as unemployment rates rose to 7.3 percent in July." I'm glad to be "jobmore", or employed. This seems to be a real blessing, around here, right now..... It's fun tooling around in the middle of the night sometimes.

Entertaining
I can't believe it, I finally watched the Anna Nicole show and found it pretty entertaining. Yes, she's fat, and I've never found her attractive anyway. Too glitzy, ditzy, and big - - even if she hadn't ballooned up. The show was not bad though. Could you imagine being married to someone like that? Help!!! {Edit: I just watched part of the E! biography of her... Yuck, she's even more disgusting than I thought. She's very slutty. Too bad, simply unattractive wasn't so bad, but unappealing and a slut? Ick!}

I'll Live
Just weathering all sorts of little disturbances lately... I'll live.

Mad Misers
I like this, from Mad's "Wit and Wisdom:" "Misers are tough to live with, but they make terrific ancestors!" Ha. Or this, "Sometimes, the best scheme for doubling your money is to fold it in half and stick it back in your wallet." Yes. Or this one, "Before arguing with your boss, it may be well to look at both sides: their side...and the outside." True! Hmm, unfortunately in my experience; "Marriage is like a bath: once you're into it and you're used to it, it's not so hot." OK, well it's not so bad either. Still I like that one too!

My Dream, Sleep With Me Wistful Audrey Tautou
This is an Amelie movie spoiler - - so don't read the rest if you don't want something about that movie revealed. Amelie is such a shy and charming girl through most of the movie. She has this elaborate scheme to put off actually meeting this guy she likes, while teasing him endlessly. They do say a couple words to each other in a coffee shop, but she denies that she is even the girl who keeps leaving secret admirer sorts of notes to him. Then, at the end of the movie, finally, she pulls him into her apartment and sleeps with him. Without ever really having any sort of relationship first. I found that unsettling, and it didn't really fit her character at all. Amelie, the girl, became quite a lot less attractive at that moment. Then, in the final few fleeting moments of the film, we see Amelie happily riding on the back of the guy's scooter. Now that she's made love to him, she's apparently happy. That's all we see. They're instantly in love and apparently happy ever after. It just doesn't fit with the rest of the movie, and the movie would have been a lot better without that strange, unexplained and incongruous ending. There, I've said it. I'm a big fan of the movie overall, and especially lovely Audrey Taotou, but the ending stinks. I just block it out, usually. I mean, they hadn't even emailed each other, let alone talk, but they just jump into bed? Sounds like a one night stand, not a dream.

How?
How does anyone manage to make it through their day to day lives, year after year? It's maddening sometimes. Things day to day, can seem so dreary. OK, so I have managed to do this somehow, so far. Sometimes, I wonder how. I don't always notice it, but then now and then, thinking of plans, things I want to do, I'll think, "yeah but I'm stuck doing *this* now."
