Beer
Sure is a pleasure to find some more Lambchop.. I've still got some Lambchop, but so much was on my drive that took a dive. So I'm on the lookout.. From "How I Quit Smoking", "The Man Who Loved Beer." Maybe I should listen! Hmm, I still have a fond spot for **good** green beer... Not like I used to, but now and then.

More Than Birds Love The Sky
"Well I love you honey, more than birds love the sky." Nice groove... "Dark Side", Shadows of Knight, from their "Gloria" album. "Gave you all my sweet lovin', but you weren't satisfied... Come back to me baby, my nights are too long. The minutes seem like hours, ever since you've been gone...."

Spirit Of America
Ooo, one of my all-time favorite Beach Boys albums, and the one which led me to get into them more, "Spirit of America", sounds sooo good this morning. I'd had it on a double LP...The DDC Gold of this sounds soo good though! I love the selections.. I think this is the best Beach Boys compilation ever! I've got to rush out for a scrimmage, maybe I'll take this with me. So many CDRs to make!

Reading A Movie
The nice thing about watching a movie with subtitles is, you can follow it pretty well without the sound on at all! Of course, you lose a little of the flavor.. It's nice though, you can do other things while you watch the movie, and the dialogue, off and on. While listening to music maybe, or a ballgame... I've been loving making CDRs lately.. Hmm, time for another.

Two Caterpillars
"That mustache looks like two caterpillars on your face." - A Rockie's wife.

You Be James Dean
"You be James Dean, I'll be Sal Mineo, you can hide me." (From The 6ths, "Just Like A Movie Star.") I **love** the imagery in music! I'm so glad to still have some of my favorites around from groups like the 6ths... Hmm, the toughest thing is, some things I've found in the last few months, which were good, but I hadn't had a chance to listen to much yet, nor pick any for listening CDRs. So, for those, I'm not so sure I can even *remember* what they were!!! Which of course makes it a little tricky to even try to replace them. I had this big pot, or actually a few sup-pots, just stuffed with seemingly all kinds of cool things, just waiting there for me to listen to them, and choose the best (or, apparently, just waiting for *that* hard drive to crash!) I'll rebuild!!

In
Seems like I was sort of "out of commission" for a few months there... Some family emergencies and things, just sapped my creative energy and some of my smile. So, what do you say when you are back? I'm in commission! I only wish I'd scheduled a vacation *right now.* I have so many things I want to do. All at once! Mmmm, I love Yo La Tengo's "Last Days Of Disco." It's so *not* disco... "And the song said let's be happy......" It's such a gorgeously rich, sad song.

Good!
I just read this from a Reuters story, "Hormones in semen may help to ease female depression because women whose partners don't use condoms are less likely to feel down." Excellent! I hate condoms anyway. So, even **she** enjoys it more without a stupid rubber. Cool. Oh, and I remembered another reason I just might be feeling unusually happy right now... The Dodgers are in first place, and tied for the most victories in the Major Leagues. Yeah!! After they started 0-3, someone asked on my Dodger list, "Anyone still optimistic about this season??" My reply, **then** "Yes, very!" Ha hah aha!

Why Am I So Happy?!
Yeah!!! Don't trust your hard drive! Looking around, I am finding I have lots and lots of "Rough CDRs", on which I'd put many of my favorite songs of the time. Like the one I'm listening to this morning, a December, 2000 Mix. I love this CD... Yesterday afternoon I was listening to a couple CDs my sweet friend made for me, over the years... I've started a new mentality too. I don't trust hard drives. So, I'm making CDRs of music, MP3s or music CDs, as I go. I'm feeling very much like actually making more favourites CDRs too, instead of just letting the music sit around, for "some day." It's so lovely out today. With a smile on my face, I'm just gliding through the day... I'll be leaving early, too, for a little trip this afternoon. Thank God for music!

One nice thing about losing a hard drive... You find out what you really care about losing. Once I found out that my email history was intact, my personal writing, and almost all of my personal photos, the rest is just "too bad." I'm certain I will never get back some of that music. What I do find though, I will likely never lose again... My system for backing up and off-loading has gotten a big boost! Plus, I get the fun of scrambling like crazy, rebuilding my digital collections.

Morning Maniac Music!
Ooooo, my taste seems to be veering back into the 1960's, and this afternoon, my first psychedelic compilation CDR, "Morning Maniac Music" sure sounds good... No, one crashed hard drive chock full of music, can't get me down, can't keep me down! There's so much to be done!

It's A Travesty!
They should have let Audrey Hepburn *sing* in "My Fair Lady"!! I'd much rather hear her voice than some other woman dubbed in not too well to her lips!

Gotta Get Away
The Rolling Stones' "Gotta Get Away" is setting me a cool groove this morning. It's beautiful morning for downloading... Wonderful day for a holiday, too! I *am* away, today.

Waltz For A Pig
The Who's "Waltz For a Pig" single is a really cool instrumental... This crash seems to actually have a good side. I'm finding some cool music. I'm going to do a couple little upgrades, as long as I have to open up the PC box to put in a new hard drive.. This may be a good thing, sort of.

Beau Boots
The Beau Brummels would cover anything!! How about them doing Nancy SInatra's "These Boots Are Made For Walking"! On this BB '66, they cover the Beatles, Stones, Herman's Hermits, Mamas and Papas, Dylan, Nancy, Simon & Garfunkel, and more.. Slight modification to "Mrs Brown, you've got a lovely daughter," - "Mrs Brown you've got a lovely daughter, I dig her body," at the fade-out. Ha ah hahaha!

Ruby Stereo
Yes, this early Stones in Stereo is cool. They almost sound *innocent*. It's so fun, making out all the details in these songs!! A little satisfaction..

Everything Crash!
I had a huge crash this weekend... My big, "data" hard drive croaked, and doesn't seem to want to come back to life at all.... There went so many songs!!! So, I have this irresistable urge to sit and download songs like crazy now... Just to make myself feel better I suppose. At least I'll have some good music, sitting on my other hard drive, then... Not the *same* music, but, ah well. (Sounds like a person in need of a more regular back up regimen!)
