Lives Of Girls
I'm so much more interested in the lives of girls than I used to be. Especially girls growing up. Women too, but especially girls. They're quite interesting, and different from what I knew. "Housekeeping", what a charming movie, about two orphaned teen girls, and their very odd gaurdian. (It's over now, and really, I liked the relationship of the two girls in this movie best. The aunt just wasn't as interesting. It seemed like the two girls had a really special relationship before the other person arrived on the scene... Then the two girls were eventually separated, sad. Still, a worthwhile little movie..)

Blonded
Frightening! Shirley Manson of Garbage has dyed her red hair blonde. She looked a lot better with her natural red... Or, how about Cher blonde. Help!! Or Julia Roberts. Ugh. I knew a young woman at work for a while, who actually looked really cute with her light brown hair dyed blonde... So many women, and men, look much worse with blonde hair though. Stupid fashion!! I'd like to be in charge of fashion... I'd have them looking better in no time. Wait..... Alright, I suppose Shirley does look pretty cute sometimes as a blondie.... Still, that whole fad is overdone.

Perfectly Mated
"You know perfectly well we're perfectly mated! After all, we're opposite sexes." - Bette Davis at the end of "June Bride". Another great line!

Wicked, With You In My Bed
I've got to remember this line, for when if I am ever a really old man, with a really old wife.
"You look like a new girl. I feel kind of wicked having you in my bed." - an old man to his all fixed up wife, as they head off for a wedding. (From "June Bride", 1948)

Shattered
The old records for this day are being shattered.... It's 97 degrees out, now... a few degrees beyond today's previous record here of 89... Mmmm, I get to try something brand new as soon as I get home!! Yeah!

Distracted Miss Tautou with flowing long hair
It's hard working when you think you're supposed to be on vacation, and you find yourself in a place that isn't quite so cool as in under *my* air conditioning (driving or at home) but also not so sunny and warm as the 94 degree outdoors.. (It's really not bad at all... Just not quite so good as I'd do.) I see The Piano was playing last night at midnight on the Love channel. There are a couple scenes in that film I'd love to be *in* with Holly Hunter.

On Vacation!
It felt like vacation anyway, out at lunch... 91 degrees.. I can feel the warmth, it's so, "not here." I love it! Another record hot day!

Over 90!
It's over 90 degrees here today, a new record for June 12, and our first day above 90 in 2002. My A/C will get a good workout. I have a ballgame to go to this evening though... Ahhh!

In My Hands, Finally!
Audrey Tautou is in my hands now... Well, at least my copy of Tautou's "Venus Beauty Institute" just arrived, finally, yesterday. It's a pretty entertaining movie. Audrey plays the second woman in the cast, seduced by a much older man. Between my exercise program for a few weeks now, and work demands, I've hardly had energy for posting here.. Oh, joy, I picked up a letter at the post office Monday, which was from exactly who I hoped it was from!
